1. What exactly is included in the package, and do I need any additional tools? The package contains a new felt layer with a self-adhesive backing in the color of your choice, along with clear instructions in English. You will also need a fabric shaver or a razor blade (for smoothing), a vacuum cleaner, a needle (for air bubbles), and possibly WhatsApp for assistance. The felt is self-adhesive.
2. How do I properly clean and smooth the old felt layer before starting? Make the surface of the felt as even as possible by removing any loose parts with a fabric shaver or razor blade. Don't worry about stains, but do pay attention to unevenness. Carefully vacuum the old layer. This helps prevent irregularities under the new layer.
3. My Wobbel is an older model — will the new felt fit it? Yes, this kit is available for the Original and Pure models. The dimensions of these Wobbels have remained exactly the same for 10 years, so the new felt is custom-made for them. However, each Wobbel is unique due to its use. There may be a slight size difference (normal and unavoidable) due to the natural behavior of felt (which expands or shrinks due to humidity, wear, and use). It's therefore best to use the same color as the old one for a smooth transition. Follow the fit-check instructions: place the sticker (still closed) on the edges to check.
4. How can I position the new felt sticker correctly without it going crooked? Place the Wobbel, curved side up, on a spacious work surface. Lay the closed sticker exactly along the old felt edges and check all sides. Secure it in the middle using the clamps. Start sticking from one short side and position the corners exactly on the old corners using both hands.
5. What if I stick it crooked or make a mistake during application? Very gently and evenly pull the felt with both hands starting from where the mistake is, without applying too much force (this would permanently deform the felt). Start again from there. Take your time: the initial placement is crucial.
6. How do I avoid air bubbles forming under the new felt? Keep the felt taut with both hands while gradually removing the backing paper and sticking it down. Smooth each section gently as you go. If a bubble forms, pierce it with a needle or smooth it out. The clamps help maintain tension throughout the process.
7. The felt doesn't seem to be exactly the right size… What should I do? This is normal and is explained by variations related to manufacturing and use, particularly the natural behavior of felt (which expands or shrinks due to humidity, wear, and use) — the size of the Wobbel Original itself has remained exactly the same for 10 years. The new felt may seem slightly smaller or larger. Choose the same color as the old one to minimize differences. 8. How long should I wait before I can use the Wobbel intensively again? You can use it immediately. In fact, the more it's used, the better.
